Windows Vista Snipping Tool used for print screens
Posted by: Jason Brundage in Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Windows Vista, tags: Microsoft VistaHowever, on Windows Vista, third party tools that take print screens are are almost of the past. I say almost, because I had to use a third party tool to take screen shots of Snipping Tool for this Blog. So, there is one feature that Snipping Tool can not do is take a screen shot of itself.
Windows Vista’s Snipping Tool can be launched from Start, All Programs, Accessories, Snipping Tool.

If you click on New, Snipping Tool freezes the desktop and allows you to use the mouse to drag a box around the object that you want to take a screen shot of.
There are a total of four different screen Snipping Tool types you can chose from..

Free-form Snip, Rectangular Snip, Windows Snip, and Full Screen Snip.
We already spoke about the Rectangular Snip, the other cool snipping type is Free-Form Snip. This allows you to take a screen shot of any shape.
The Windows Snip and Full-Screen Snip take screen shots of the active Window and the other will take a screen shot, a snip of the whole desktop.
