Wordpress Visual editor not working stuck in HMTL mode
Posted by: bruntech in PC Trouble Shooting, Wordpress
Issue: When you either try to edit an existing Wordpress post or Wordpress page, you do not see the page when you click on the Visual tab. There are other various Wordpress Visual editor issues that people have had like Internet Exploer or Firefox browser being stuck in HTML mode.
Environement: The Wordpress site is using Google Analytics.
What is happening: When a user is browsing your Wordpress website, Google Analytics is tracking pages, links etc. just as it is supposed to. If an Wordpress author clicks on logon and logs into their Wordpress site, they would then click on write or manage posts or pages. The JavaScript from Google Analytics is still in the browser memory/loaded because it was loaded BEFORE you logged in as an WordPress Author/Admin.
Workaround:
- Browse to your Wordpress site.
- Right click on the Wordpress login link
- select either new tab or new window.
- Login into you Wordpress dashboard as usaul.
- The Google Analytics javascript will not be loaded into the same browser session and the Visual editor should work fine.
If this does not work then try these setps on TinyMCE Trouble shootting for a step by step preocedure for resolving issue with the Wordpress Visual editor.
