Have you recieved the follwoing errors:

0×80072EE7
0×8024402C
0×8024502D
0×800A01AD 

.. when you goto Windows Update website or when receiving Windows updates from WSUS, (Windows Server Update Services).

The errors are eplained below:

0×800A0046 error code occurs if the user logon account belongs to the Guests or Limited account groups. Bascilly this is a rights issue.. Logon with a account that has more rights.

0×80248011 error code occurs because of an issue with the Internet cache. Flush out your internet cache files. Make sure that hte folder that the internet cache resides exists… Also make sure yoiu have not run out of hard drive space not allowing files to be cached.

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. 
  • Click the General tab. 
  • In the Temporary Internet files section, click Delete Cookies. 
  • In the Delete Cookies box, click OK. 
  • Click Delete Files. 
  • Click to select the Delete all offline content check box in the Delete Files dialog box, and then click OK.
  • In the History section, click Clear History. 
  • Click Yes, and then click OK.

0×80072EE7 error code occurs when the client computer tries to resolve a URL for the Windows Update Web site and cannot find the correct IP address. This can be caseud by many things. Bascially the PC is unable to resolve a Host name to an IP. Make sure your DNS settings are set correctly and that you can ping your DNS server. Also make sure that there is not a host entry in your host file, c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc.

0×8024402C or 0×8024502D error codes typically occur because an incorrect character exists in the proxy override settings. 

  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. 
  • Click the Connections tab, click LAN Settings, and then click Advance.
  • Delete any entry in the Exceptions section. 
  • Quit Internet Explorer.
  • Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK. 
  • Type the following commands. Press ENTER after each command.* proxycfg -d
    • net stop wuauserv
    • net start wuauserv

0×800A01AD error code occurs if the Wuaueng.dll file is missing or is not registered correctly. 

  • Register the MSXML program files
  • Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 Msxml.dll in the Open box, and then click OK. 
  • When you receive the following message, click OK: DllRegisterServer in Msxml.dll succeeded. 
  • Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 Msxml2.dll in the Open box, and then click OK.
  • When you receive the following message, click OK: DllRegisterServer in Msxml2.dll succeeded. 
  • Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 Msxml3.dll in the Open box, and then click OK.
  • When you receive the following message, click OK: DllRegisterServer in Msxml3.dll succeeded. 

or try this metthod ..

  • Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 Wuaueng.dll, and then click OK. 
  • When you receive the following message, click OK: DllRegisterServer in Wuaueng.dll succeeded.
